WISDOM EXPOSED FOR WINDOWS 11
======================

What this installs
------------------
- Wisdom Exposed, Aura, and Wisdom Exposed Control in %LOCALAPPDATA%\Wisdom Exposed
- Desktop and Start Menu shortcuts with the Wisdom Exposed icon
- A launcher that starts the app on 127.0.0.1:3000 and opens Aura in an Edge app window
- No Docker, database, or optional local AI model is required for the sample workspace

Install
-------
1. Extract Wisdom-Exposed-Windows11.zip somewhere such as Downloads\Wisdom-Exposed-Windows11.
Do not run the installer from inside the ZIP preview.
2. Open PowerShell in the extracted folder.
3. Run:

powershell -NoProfile -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -File .\windows\Install-Wisdom-Exposed.ps1

4. If Node.js 20+ is missing, the installer offers to install Node.js LTS using winget.
You can decline and install it yourself from https://nodejs.org instead.
5. After installation, open Start, search "Wisdom Exposed", right-click it, and select
"Pin to taskbar". Windows 11 deliberately requires this manual pin action.

Daily use
---------
Click the Wisdom Exposed shortcut. The launcher checks whether Wisdom Exposed is already running,
starts it only when needed, waits for its health check, and opens Aura.
Chrome or Edge is recommended for browser speech recognition. Allow microphone
access when you start a voice session.

Stop Wisdom Exposed
------------
Run this in PowerShell:

powershell -NoProfile -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -File "%LOCALAPPDATA%\Wisdom Exposed\windows\Stop-Wisdom-Exposed.ps1"

Logs
----
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Wisdom Exposed\logs\wisdom-exposed.out.log
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Wisdom Exposed\logs\wisdom-exposed.err.log

Privacy and data
----------------
The launcher binds to 127.0.0.1, not your LAN. The interactive sample workspace is
stored in your browser's local storage. Clearing site data for 127.0.0.1:3000 resets it.
Research uses external providers only when you ask. Microphone speech recognition
uses your browser's speech service and requires permission.

Updating an existing pinned app
-------------------------------
1. Close the Sidecar or Wisdom Exposed app window.
2. Extract the newer bundle into a new folder. Do not extract it over an installed
app folder and do not run it from the ZIP preview.
3. Double-click Install-Wisdom-Exposed.cmd in the newly extracted folder.

The updater stops the old local server, installs and builds Wisdom Exposed in
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Wisdom Exposed, refreshes the shortcuts, and opens the updated app.
Your browser-local workspace data is not removed; the app migrates the existing
Sidecar workspace on first load while leaving the old browser storage as a backup.

If you are updating from Sidecar, unpin the old Sidecar taskbar icon and pin the new
Wisdom Exposed shortcut. A compatibility launcher is retained for the old script path,
but Windows cannot reliably rename an existing taskbar pin for you. Existing Wisdom
Exposed pins continue to use the same new shortcut path.

If the window shows an older cached page, press Ctrl+F5. Wisdom Exposed Control is
available at /grc and under Assurance > Wisdom Exposed Control. If the pin is missing,
open Start, search Wisdom Exposed, right-click the newly installed shortcut, and select
Pin to taskbar again.
